South West Tour 2010
Zigatango did several shows in the far south west covering Albany and Denmark over the period of a few days.
This included performances at the Albany Town Hall, Denmark Markets and the Denmark Civic Centre. All three gigs were very successful, and we had a great time.
Albany Town Hall
With around 200 in the crowd this was a very enjoyable evening. We did something special on this night and decided eventually not to have a support act. This meant we could put together two solid sets either side of an interval which people felt was the perfect length for the show.
Despite a solid turn out, we were a little dismayed to be billed almost twice what we did at the Fly By Night venue for hire, and this is despite the Albany Town Hall being short staffed on the night, so although it was a successful evening in terms of the performance, it left us a little broke and we were thankful not to have lost a lot of money which would have been the case for a smaller turn out.
Denmark Markets
Although there was a large crowd watching, we had difficulties with the sound during this gig, but after a while it was sounding good and a few people were up dancing. It is always hard with many acoustic instruments and outdoor amplification to get a good sound.
Denmark Civic Centre
This was organised entirely by the Denmark Arts Council. It was such a relief to for once just rock up and perform. They put on a meal for everyone and there was much dancing. In fact we can safely say that this gig was our all time favourite. We have never had such an enthusiastic response ever! Thankyou Denmark for making us feel so welcome and for being such a supportive community.
